Berandol is a young priest and mentor to Wintrow Vestrit.
His family members are swineherds who had difficulties making a living. Berandol comments that their pigs received greater care than anyone else. When he was young, his mother became ill and his father made a promise that if she lived, he would dedicate one of his children to Sa. For that reason, they sent Berandol, the youngest surviving child of the family off.
Berandol used to have a stunted arm due to falling on it when he was young, but it got cured by other priests of Sa. They put him with a watering crew on an orchard, and the priest in charge gave him mismatched buckets, making him carry the heavier one with his weaker arm.
In this context, he got introduced to his first precept of Sa: ‘For the weakest has but to try his strength to find it, and then he shall be strong.’
